WHAT IS HANUCA?
Hanukkah (sometimes spelt Chanuca) is the Festival for eight days, the Jewish celebration. The Maccabees concerned for Jewish survival rose up against the Greek tyrant oppressors. This was known as the Maccabean Revolt and the Maccabees were successful, ensuring Jewish survival Hanukkah commemorates the re-dedication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 165 BCE.
